St. Michael’s students are well-prepared for college. In addition to excellent academic course offerings, students receive individualized college counseling and numerous resources to enhance their college search and planning experience. Each student has a Naviance account and individual conferences start during the junior year. In August, a majority of students attend the St. Michael's College Boot Camp where they meet with representatives from colleges who assist with college preparations; they meet with English teachers for editing advice on college essays and receive counseling on a variety of college topics, the common application, the Apply Texas application among others.
St. Michael's hosts over 100 colleges during the fall when representatives come to campus to visit with students during the school day. St. Michael's also hosts the Hills of Austin College Fair each fall with over 150 colleges in attendance. In addition, St. Michael's is on the Texas Jesuit Tour, a Jesuit college fair with 18 Jesuit colleges participating. St. Michael's also is the site for information sessions for the Central Texas area for the University of Notre Dame, George Washington University and the University of the Incarnate Word. Each year, we are privileged to have an expert in financial aid and scholarships speak to parents and students about these important topics. Apparently, students and parents take advantage of this opportunity since last year's graduates were awarded more than $7.7 million in scholarships to attend colleges and universities worldwide.
