Dear Parent:
Each year we strive to share our resources and help provide as many children with the benefits of a Catholic education as possible. This year St. Michael’s provided need based assistance to over 150 students, or 35% of our student body. All financial aid awards are need based and are not required to be paid back by our families.
The St. Michael’s Financial Aid Committee determines the financial aid award for each student who applies. FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment will be assisting the Committee by conducting the preliminary financial need analysis for St. Michael’s for the upcoming 2010-2011 school year. Families with incoming freshmen who are applying for financial aid will need to complete an online application and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment by February 1, 2010. If you are have a returning student or if you missed the February 1 deadline for families of incoming freshmen, you must complete the online application and submit all necessary supporting documentation by March 31, 2010. If you prefer filing a paper application, please contact me.
The St. Michael’s Financial Aid Committee will review the information submitted. We will also consider any additional information brought to our attention through our correspondence. Applicants with students entering the Class of 2014 can apply online beginning January 1, 2010, by clicking here. If your student is entering the Class of 2013, Class of 2012, or Class of 2011, please wait until February 12, 2010, to complete the application. The following information is required in order for FACTS to process your application:
- Completed online or paper application.
- Copies of your 2009 tax forms including all supporting tax schedules. (If you have not received your 2008 tax information, you may submit your 2008 tax information to FACTS. Once you have completed your 2009 taxes, please submit those to FACTS.)
- Copies of your 2009 W-2 form for both you and your spouse.
- 5. Copies of supporting documentation for Social Security Income, Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers’ Compensation, and TANF.
If you have questions or concerns about the application process, please contact Aaron Stancik at astancik@smca.com. You may also speak with a FACTS Customer Care Representative at 1-866-315-9262.
Sincerely,
Aaron Stancik
