Last fall, the SMCA Engineering Club started as an umbrella organization for students interested in math and science.  Next fall, the Robotics Club will split off and prepare for participation in the FIRST Robotics competition.  In the meantime, students are developing their problem solving and programming skills by working with the Lego NXT robots.  A new challenge is assigned each week and three student teams compete to accomplish the goal.  The robots are made more functional by the addition of the scientific probes purchased with help from the Parent’s Club.
